Invention helped kidney disease patients on home dialysis (1980s)

KidneysDr. Denis Pagé developed the first night-time peritoneal dialysis system that changed a patient’s dialysis fluid as they slept. This saved patients with kidney failure from having to wake up multiple times in the night to change the fluid manually. While the original system is no longer in use, it led to further innovations like the night-time cycler machine that is used by many patients today.
