Job Description

As a part-time member of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation’s Summer Student Team, you will primarily be an ambassador/spokesperson for The Ottawa Hospital Foundation (TOHF) at a variety of events throughout the summer. You and your fellow teammate will be integral to the Marketing team, and will work on supporting and promoting our special events and fundraising programs through both onsite support at events and through administrative support at the office.

The successful applicant will be required to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend and work at events promoting TOHF’s events and programs, performing duties specific to the nature of the event and act as an ambassador/spokesperson
  • Research and uncover new marketing opportunities to promote TOHF’s events and programs
  • Track and maintain records of events attended
  • Provide administrative support to our Marketing and Signature Events teams
  • Additional office duties and projects as required

Required Experience:

The successful applicant must have:

  • A “go getter” attitude, team player, and relationship builder 
  • A valid Canadian driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Energy, an outgoing personality, and an active spirit
  • Strong people skills; enthusiastic and outgoing with a professional demeanor and superior customer service skills, and the maturity to work independently
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work under pressure while juggling several competing priorities
  • Organizational skills and be detail-oriented, with strong follow through
  • Excellent public speaking, phone and email skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, SharePoint, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Flexibility and a willingness to adjust to new tactics and strategies as they emerge

In addition:

  • Previous volunteer experience considered an asset
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset
