MGV2017 has big goals this year. But when you have a team captain who continues to battle through adversity, you know those goals are possible to achieve.
Sindy Hooper was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2013. The odds were against her, like other patients faced with the same diagnosis.
“My life changed forever, when I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The average survival for this cancer is only 6 months, 75% die within the first year, only 6% live for 5 years.”
Over four years later, Sindy continues to battle through. This year, she’s determined to have a team of 1,000 walkers and runners at Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. With participants in every event, Team MGV2017 will be raising money to support cancer research at The Ottawa Hospital. For Sindy, supporting The Ottawa Hospital provides hope for her and others.
“I've been given this incredible gift of time, and I am grateful for it, every single day! I'd like to keep giving back to The Ottawa Hospital because I believe in the outstanding care they provide to residents of Ottawa and the surrounding area.”
Keep Sindy’s dream alive. Help her build this team and reach her goal of $100,000 by supporting The Ottawa Hospital through Run for a Reason at Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend.
