Thermo Fisher Scientific
On December 3, Thermo Fisher Scientific employees came together to launch their 2013 workplace campaign. They have chosen to support ground-breaking cancer research at The Ottawa Hospital. To help kick off their campaign, Dr. Jean-Simon Diallo came out to share his research on cancer-killing oncolytic viruses with the Thermo Fisher team.
Over the years, Thermo Fisher Scientific and its employees have helped transform patient care at The Ottawa Hospital through their support of various hospital initiatives. Originally, it had committed to raising $100,000 over five years, but since then it has far exceeded that goal, raising nearly $200,000 through employee gifts, corporate matching, and gifts in kind.
We are extremely grateful for our ongoing partnership with the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, and for the company’s corporate investment in cancer care and research at The Ottawa Hospital.
In the words of Dr. Jack Kitts, President & CEO, The Ottawa Hospital, “You guys are amazing.” We couldn’t agree more, and that is why The Ottawa Hospital Foundation thanked NAV CANADA employees with a citation at our President’s Dinner on November 19.
We’ve said this before, and we’ll continue saying it – NAV CANADA employees are leaders in philanthropy. In 2008, they set out to raise $500,000, and now, after six years, they have raised over $1.6 million. Now that 2013 has come to a close, we’d like to celebrate the generosity of NAV CANADA during this year’s employee campaign in support of cancer care and research. Thank you, NAV CANADA team, for your continued commitment to leading-edge care. Our community is lucky to have your support!
