Enhancing cancer care through new technology

In 2010, The Ottawa Hospital was one of only three hospitals in Canada to offer CyberKnife treatment to cancer patients. To date more than 350 patients have benefited from its cutting edge radiation treatment. The Hospital now wants to increase that number to 25,000 by 2015.

It’s an impressive goal which can only be achieved through the generosity of our community. That’s why this year’s White Coat Challenge Committee has set a goal of raising $150,000 to support the purchase and implementation of computer software for the CyberKnife.

This new software would allow the CyberKnife’s robotic arm to move more quickly, which would reduce radiation treatment times by roughly 30%. Shorter treatment times mean more patients will benefit from the CyberKnife every day.

By joining the 2012-2013 White Coat Challenge you will help The Ottawa Hospital continue to provide the very best care to those who need it most.

Thank you to the following companies who have already committed to enhancing cancer care in the Nation’s Capital. Join them today to leave your mark on the future of care at The Ottawa Hospital.
