Exceeding all expectations

They had set an initial goal of raising $500,000 in five years to support cancer care and research at The Ottawa Hospital. During that timeframe, the outstanding generosity of NAV CANADA employees, suppliers and the company resulted in more than $1.35 million in donations for innovative discoveries at The Ottawa Hospital.

“NAV CANADA employees have far exceeded expectations, raising almost three times as much as our original goal,” said John Crichton, President and CEO of NAV CANADA. “This is a testament to our employees’ generosity, trust and support of the work being done by The Ottawa Hospital, and their commitment to the battle against cancer.”

This achievement will be celebrated by the Ottawa community when NAV CANADA receives this year’s Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist award presented by the Ottawa Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in November.

NAV CANADA wrapped up its five-year success with the presentation of a ceremonial cheque to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation for $301,000, reflecting employee donations, special events and a corporate match in 2012.
