MDS's 2017 Fundraising Goal
MDS is committed to supporting
Regenerative Medecine research as
part of the Tender Loving Research
campaign at The Ottawa Hospital.
MDS Employees Exceed 2015 Workplace Campaign Goal!
MDS employees rallied together and exceeded their initial goal of $30,000 to support Regenerative Medicine research at The Ottawa Hospital for their fourth annual workplace campaign. Thank you!
Campaign organizers Elizabeth MacLeod and Anne Doswell ran another incredibly successful campaign by encouraging their colleagues to get involved - starting with a launch rally featuring presentations from the Senior Leadership Team and Dr. Lauralyn McIntyre from the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Weekly raffles (one which featured Cirque du Soleil tickets!), amazing employee support, and a generous corporate gift followed and the result was an exceptional final tally of $40,160.29 raised in support of The Ottawa Hospital!
MDS knows that innovative research takes more than the best researchers and clinical investigators—our researchers need the proper tools to complete this critical work. Scientists at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute are not only discovering novel kinds of stem cells and deciphering how they work, but they are translating their research into new personalized therapies for patients.
In the next few years, our researchers will accelerate these activities and initiate a number of world-first clinical trials in patients. Their ability and success in carrying out their work heavily depends on financial support from generous supporters like MDS who committed to the purchase of vital research equipment, enabling our team of over 100 scientists, clinical investigators, trainees, and staff at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute to proceed with their work.
Since launching their first campaign in 2011, MDS has made a more than $180,000 impact on cancer care and medical research at The Ottawa Hospital in just 4 years:
2011: MDS raised $32,707.00 which resulted in the purchase of a DNA spinner and ultra low freezer to support our cancer research team
2012: MDS raised $57,557.00 as part of the White Coat Challenge which resulted in the purchase of the software upgrade for the Cyberknife at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre
2014: MDS raised $50,192.50 as part of White Coat Challenge which resulted in the purchase of a capillary sequencer for the Molecular Oncology Diagnostic Laboratory
2015: MDS raised $40,160.29 to support the Tender Loving Research Campaign and purchase vital research equipment for Regenerative Medicine Research
Thank you MDS for your continued and generous support of The Ottawa Hospital!
