Auxiliary at the Civic Campus

In November 1951, 17 women put their dedication to The Ottawa Civic Hospital to work by forming the Women’s Auxiliary. What started with a humble snack bar has grown into a volunteer organization that has logged more than three million volunteer hours throughout the Civic Campus and raised more than $13 million for The Ottawa Hospital. The Ottawa Hospital Civic Auxiliary is a tremendous and valued partner of the Hospital and its Foundation. A purchase through an Auxiliary shop translates into support for improvements at The Ottawa Hospital.

Below is a small sample of the equipment purchased thanks to the work and dedication of the volunteers of the Civic Auxiliary:

  • Neuro Navigation Unit
  • Emergency Trauma Unit
  • Argon Laser for Stapedectomy
  • Drager Bili Meter
  • Sternum Saw
  • Versacare Bed
  • Hush Upright Slush Machine
  • Bladder Scanner
  • Operating Room High Definition Microscope
