Join us in honouring the leadership and legacy of
Dr. Jack Kitts, President and CEO, The Ottawa Hospital from 2001-2020
After 30 years as a part of The Ottawa Hospital team, Dr. Jack Kitts is retiring. He joined the medical staff in 1988 and enjoyed numerous roles prior to becoming President and CEO in October 2001. He led The Ottawa Hospital through a significant change in how health care was delivered in Ottawa and eastern Ontario. It was his leadership which successfully guided the amalgamation of four separate hospitals into what we now know as The Ottawa Hospital.
It is Dr. Kitts who instilled the belief that every patient treated at The Ottawa Hospital should be cared for like a family member. In addition, every patient should have access to the latest treatments and that’s why he has been committed to attracting the brightest doctors and researchers from around the world.
It’s that leadership that has lead us to laying the groundwork for the future of health care with the new Carling site. The wheels are now in motion for Dr. Kitt’s vision of replacing the aging Civic Campus, with a 21st-century health and research centre for our community.
