I spent my first Christmas as a ‘patient’ in the nursery following my birth on December 22, 1942

My Mother, a Civic grad, class of 1934, spent 5 years working in the OR after her graduation was a patient as well. My Mom was alone that Christmas as my Dad was overseas as WW 11 was happening. Mom’s fellow nursing friends took great care of her.

I am also a Civic grad, class of 1963.

I worked there for a year following my graduation before marrying and moving away from Ottawa.

The Civic has always been near and dear to my heart.
