I’m a proud graduate of the Civic school of nursing class of 1971.

We wore black stockings and a pin stripped uniform for the 1st 2 years of training. Only in our 3rd year were we allowed to wear the white uniform. There were no male nurses back then and the women were not allowed to get married.

We lived and worked at the hospital for 3yrs and probably received the best training anywhere in the province.

Thank you to the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
