I was born at the Civic Hospital in 1945. Family lore has it that my mother (Margaret W.L.) was accommodated in the same room as Princess Juliana whose daughter was born the year before. Every time I visit the Tulip Festival I remember that it was a gift from Queen Juliana who so appreciated the care she got at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
