My daughter was born at The Civic in February,1990. After being admitted a few weeks before her birth, due to preeclampsia concerns and many tests I was told that my condition was not improving. Dr.’s told me our best chance was a c-section and it needed to be done immediately. Shocked and scared as, I was 28 weeks pregnant at the time I consented to the surgery. My daughter was born at 28 weeks weighing 1240 grams. I was in a medically induced coma for a couple of days. Everything turned out great. No problems for my daughter or myself although she had to stay in the NICU for 2 months longer. The nurses and doctors were so kind and caring to both myself and my daughter during this happy but, chaotic time in our lives. I am now and will always be so grateful for everyone involved in our birth story.

Thank you to everyone on our care team for the exceptional care and support.
