My mother, Mathilde Bohmer, worked at the Civic in the mid-fifties, first in the cafeteria and later as a nurse’s aid. This photo, entitled “United Nations” at Civic Hospital, has always interested me. The hospital has always welcomed immigrants with open arms.

Here’s a story: On February 25 1984, and August 11 1985 babies were born at the then Civic Hospital. They have grown up to be marvelous people. Perhaps thanks to the wonderful teams that were present at those momentous beginnings.

A number of years ago I was referred to the Urology Department for prostate problems. I received excellent care from Dr. Morash and staff. The diagnosis and treatment of my enlarged benign prostate enabled me to continue working and resume my normal activities. I am grateful for the care I received at the Civic Hospital.
